How to check a maid agency's Labour Department warnings, convictions and revocations
The Labour Department publishes three lists on its Employment Agencies Portal: agencies issued written warnings for breaching the Code of Practice for Employment Agencies, agencies convicted of overcharging or unlicensed operation, and agencies whose licences were revoked or refused renewal. LD publishes each record only for a set period.
This site does not reproduce these records. To check any employment agency, please see the Labour Department's official lists:
- List of EAs issued written warnings for non-compliance with the Code of Practice ↗
- List of EAs convicted of overcharging or unlicensed operation ↗
- List of EAs whose licences were revoked or refused renewal ↗
The Labour Department's lists are authoritative. When checking, compare both the Chinese and English names and the address, as different agencies can have similar names.
You can also search the licensed agency register on the LD site ↗, or visit the Labour Department Employment Agencies Portal ↗.
